Patrick Psenak
Hello everyone! My name is Patrick Psenak and I’m a holder of a Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in Judo and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In addition I am also a certified National Coach under USA Judo. I began training Judo at the age of 10 in my native Slovakia under Lubomir Zagorov, Dasa Melicharkova, Peter Forro and Jaroslav Duroska.
During my competitive career I participated and medaled in the competitive European circuit of Judo tournaments and competed for JK Patronka Bratislava and TJ Sokol Judo Bratislava, which is one of the oldest clubs in Slovakia that raised many successful athletes.
I arrived to San Antonio in 2018 and in early 2022 decided to contribute to the martial arts community in San Antonio and formed the club which originally started as Southtown Judo. Since then, our students have successfully competed and placed on regional and national tournaments.

Jeremiah Koch
Coach Jerry holds a Shodan - 1st degree black belt in Judo and is a certified USA Judo regional coach.
Jerry's main focus is self defense and Combat Judo which is a blend of mixed martial arts for police and military members that he works with in private lessons.
In addition, coach Jerry holds a red belt in Ju Ki Do which is a blend of Judo, Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, from PKI MMA. His training also includes Kali (stick and knife fighting), Kenpo, Aikido and Wing Chun.

Sensei Mark E. Roosa
Sensei Mark has been practicing Judo for over 50 years as a competitor, coach, referee and instructor. Sensei Mark is currently a member of Hudson Judo Yudanshakai, where he has attained the rank of Rokudan (6th degree black belt). He is a member of their board of examiners and is promotion secretary. In addition, he has owned and operated Ulster Budokai Inc. in Kingston, New York, since 1976 until his arrival to San Antonio in 2017.
Sensei Mark is currently teaching class once a week and is primarily a technical advisor to coach Patrick and Jerry.
